What you'll be doing
The Nurse Manager (NM) Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Initiatives within the Nursing and Midwifery Workforce team NSLHD provides essential leadership to the successful implementation of key organisational-wide projects led by the Nurse Manager Nursing and Midwifery Workforce, Nursing and Midwifery Directorate and Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD) and where appropriate Ministry of Health (MoH). The Nurse Manager Nursing and Midwifery Workforce Initiatives is operationally and professionally accountable to the Nurse Manager Nursing and Midwifery Workforce for the strategic and operational monitoring of the NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery workforce plan. 

The incumbent will manage projects as allocated, including managing stakeholder engagement and securing buy-in from key personnel in effectively implementing new business processes or service improvements within the Nursing & Midwifery Directorate.

The incumbent will facilitate overseas recruitment and Transitional Enrolled Nurse workforce, assist the annual GradStart and MidStart recruitment campaign and ongoing recruitment of Transitional Enrolled Nurses, in addition to any identified areas of recruitment or workforce initiatives within the NSLHD and MoH Workforce Strategies. The position will provide strategic advice to the Nurse Manager Nursing and Midwifery Workforce, NSLHD regarding opportunities for service improvement and impact of change and robust service reforms to support planning and development. 

This position is responsible for supporting the NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce team in the managing and monitoring of Nursing and Midwifery workforce coordination and development. The position will an analyse and interpret data from a variety of sources with a focus on the monitoring of Nursing and Midwifery NHPPD, BirthRate Plus, FTE reporting including analysis of premium labour utilisation; engagement and implementation of GradStarts, Transitional Enrolled Nurses, overseas recruitment and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cadets.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse (Division 1).
  2. Demonstrated extensive management experience and understanding of workforce demands at an organisational level.
  3. Proven experience in project managing organisational change or business improvement initiatives.
  4. Excellent organisational skills with a proven capacity to manage concurrent activities of diverse nature, experience working in a high volume and challenging professional environment with an ability to prioritise, achieve business goals, and be customer focused.
