What you'll be doing

The Nurse Educator for Bio preparedness will be responsible for the development and delivery and evaluation of an educational program to support staff who will be expected to manage patients with VHF or other High Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCID), including rapid deployment to support staff caring for patients with HCID in other facilities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Registration: Currently authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation

Selection Criteria:

  1. Registered Nurse/Midwife with post registration nursing/midwifery clinical or education qualifications relevant to the clinical area in which he/she is applying, or qualifications deemed equivalent or appropriate by the employer
  2. Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work in a consultative manner and to supervise other educators and trainers
  3. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills in an education context
  4. Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment
  5. Ability to effectively manage projects in a timely manner
  6. Demonstrated experience in the development, delivery and evaluation of education programs including experience in the delivery of simulation education and Demonstrated understanding of the principles of simulation based education including experience in a variety of debriefing techniques
  7. Experience with the principles of bio-preparedness including high level PPE training.
  8. Critical Care nursing experience desirable.
