Providing contemporary comprehensive Specialist General Medicine services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes delivering a healthy community through quality care. 
  
Providing clinical leadership, participating in quality improvement activities and providing training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.

Byron Central Hospital provides a range of services including emergency services, mental health, birthing and maternity services, and ambulatory and allied health services.  Located in the Byron Shire, you will find some of Australia's most famous surf breaks and holiday destinations, while the hinterland is rich with vibrant communities, local markets and mouth-watering local produce. 

Murwillumbah District Hospital is a local community hospital established in 1904 providing a range of services including Emergency, Operating Suite, Day Surgery, Medical Inpatient Unit, Renal Dialysis, Women's Ambulatory Care, Antenatal and Gynaecology Clinics and a well-appointed rehabilitation unit.  Located in the Tweed Valley, this is an area of great beauty encompassing the rugged terrain of Wollumbin National Park, arty riverside villages, historic coastal towns, stunning beaches and the gateway to the Gold Coast.

  • Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist General Physician, and/or specialist international medical pathways; OR MBA Registration in another Physician specialty with appropriate documented advanced training, and/or experience and recency of practice in General Medicine
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in General Medicine at the role delineation of the service
