Applications are invited from suitably qualified dental practitioners for the above position in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.  The position will be primarily located at Nepean Centre for Oral Health with rotation to other facilities across NBMLHD.

 

Successful applicants will be responsible to provide orthodontic care for eligible patients.

 

The position will be until the end of the current Quinquennium, ending on 30 June 2027.

 

The sessions will be provided on regular basis from Nepean Centre for Oral Health with possible rotation to other dental facilities within NBMLHD or external dental facilities (e.g. AMS). Appointees may be eligible for credentialing and privileging across all other facilities in the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District.

Selection Criteria

  1. Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a dental Specialist – orthodontics- with the Dental Board of Australia.
  2. Evidence of Continuing dental Education and self-monitoring/audit practices consistent with the scope of practice requirements of the position.
  3. Sound clinical knowledge in orthodontics demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position.
  4. High level interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.
  5. Demonstrated commitment to teaching and mentoring junior dental staff consistent with contemporary best practice supervision standards.
  6. Demonstrates the skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Dental Practitioner including modelling of a high standard of professional behaviour to junior dental staff.
  7. Demonstrated commitment in applying and leading oral health quality improvement initiatives.

  

Conditions of appointment are in accordance with the Health Services Act 1997 and Visiting Dental Officer State Award.

Employees and Contractors must abide by the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
