About the Service

Manning Mental Health Service includes Care Coordination, Intake and Acute Care Teams. As an acute outpatient mental health service, we provide consultation, assessment, treatment and follow-up for adults and their families across the Lower Mid North Coast community.
We support consumers transitioning from hospital into the community, offering medication monitoring, psychoeducation, relapse prevention, coordination of psychiatry reviews, and collaboration with community supports.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary, recovery-focused team and be directly supported by senior clinicians, the Service Manager, and the broader Manning Mental Health network.

About the Role

As a Mental Health Professional, you will provide high-quality, consumer-centred assessment, treatment and care coordination for people experiencing mental health concerns. You will work collaboratively with families/carers, GPs, CMOs and other key stakeholders to ensure effective, holistic, trauma-informed care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver discipline-specific interventions and comprehensive care coordination for referred consumers and their families/carers.

  • Provide high-quality assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation in line with best practice and relevant legislation.

  • Deliver consumer-centred and family-inclusive care that aligns with the National Mental Health Standards.

  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with MH-OAT and NSW Health policies.

  • Provide education, health promotion and mental health awareness to consumers, families, students and colleagues.

  • Advocate for the needs of people with mental health concerns and their families/carers.

  • Participate in regular clinical supervision, professional development, training and relevant forums.

  • Support quality improvement activities, service development, research and practice innovation.

  • Promote NSW Health values, teamwork, cultural respect and safe clinical practice.

  • Comply with Work Health & Safety procedures, identifying and managing risks within your scope of responsibility.

What We’re Looking For

  • Knowledge and experience in contemporary mental health practice, including intake intervention, shared care models and consumer/carer-focused approaches.

  • Understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles.

  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to build collaborative therapeutic relationships with consumers, families and key stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and evidence-based practice.
