What you'll be doing
The Mental Health Professional delivers critical care and recovery-focused services to older adults. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating mental health assessments, care planning, and therapeutic interventions.
- Managing a caseload with acute and recovery-focused clinical interventions.
- Supporting consumers in crisis and providing timely assistance to families and carers.
- Liaising with allied health services and stakeholders for integrated care.
- Maintaining detailed clinical records and upholding professional standards.

Essential requirements
Qualification: Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Psychologist and current registration with AHPRA or Social Worker eligible for membership of AASW
Registration: Demonstrated full registration with AHPRA as Registered Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Psychologist
Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated skills in conducting comprehensive mental health assessment and management, including assessment, crisis intervention and care coordination.
- Skills demonstrating capacity to conduct clinical risk assessment and management including suicide risk management.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to effectively work within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrated understanding of the range of healthy ageing processes and common physical, social, cultural and mental health needs of older people.
- An understanding of recovery models in mental health and the ability to implement these within clinical practice.
- Experience working in mental health and a demonstrated knowledge of the NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
- Current Class C Drivers Licence and willingness to drive for work purpose.
