What you'll be doing
The Mental Health Clinician – HASI Plus plays a key role in supporting individuals with severe and persistent mental illness in their recovery journey. This position ensures comprehensive care, collaboration, and service delivery in line with best practices.

  • Facilitate partnerships between Parramatta Mission, WSLHD services, and external agencies.
  • Conduct specialised mental health assessments and develop recovery-oriented care plans.
  • Provide clinical interventions, monitor treatment progress, and support community integration.
  • Establish collaborative relationships with consumers, carers, and support networks.
  • Engage in professional development, quality improvement, and compliance with policies.

Essential Requirements

Qualification: Tertiary graduate qualification in Social Work, Nursing, Psychology or Occupational Therapy
Registration: Current full registration with APHRA for Registered Nurses, Psychologists, and Occupational Therapists; eligibility to be a member of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW). 

 

Selection Criteria

  1. Significant clinical experience within a multi-disciplinary team environment providing mental health evidence based practice within a recovery paradigm, using a variety of psychosocial interventions to assist in consumer goals attainment, including but not limited to psycho-education, narrative therapy, motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural therapy.
  2. Demonstrated experience in planning implementation and evaluation of clinical services or programs.
  3. Demonstrated experience working with consumers with a forensic or custodial history and extensive clinical experience in the under taking of risk assessments and development and implementation of behavioural management plans within a group residential setting.
  4. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills (telephone, written and verbal).
  5. Demonstrated experience working in partnership and collaboratively with NGO service partners, WSLHD or similar services and teams and other key stakeholders including NSW Ministry of Health, primary care providers.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the provision of individual and group clinical supervision and the development of staff training.
  7. Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
