The HNE Mater Mental Health Centre is seeking a Mental Health Centre After Hours Receptionist to join our team and provide a professional, welcoming and supportive service to patients, visitors and staff.

Located at the Mater Campus in Waratah, the HNE Mater Mental Health Centre is a 100-bed acute mental health inpatient facility. As the first point of contact for the Centre after hours, you will play an important role in supporting the smooth, safe and efficient operation of the facility.

About the team

You will be part of the Mental Health Clinical Information Service and an important member of the broader Mental Health Centre team.

Working closely with administration staff and multidisciplinary clinical teams across the Centre, you will have the opportunity to build strong working relationships with a diverse range of people.

The reception area is a busy environment, with staff and visitors coming and going throughout the day. As the primary position based at the main reception desk after hours, you will have the opportunity to take ownership of your responsibilities while working collaboratively with others.

  • Work collaboratively with administration and multidisciplinary clinical teams.
  • Support the smooth operation of the Centre outside of standard business hours.

This position works across a 7-day rotating roster, including:

  • A willingness to accept constructive feedback and continually develop your skills.
  • An understanding of the challenges associated with working in an acute mental health environment.
