About the role:

Reporting to and supported by the Administration Team Leader, you will provide vital administrative support to a range of community health services across Newcastle Community Health Service and Charlestown Community Services Centre. This will include delivering consistent, high-quality customer service as the first point of contact for clients, carers, and healthcare professionals—via phone, email, and in person. Key responsibilities include appointment scheduling, managing client records, facilitating Telehealth sessions, and supporting billing and referral processes. This casual position operates during weekday business hours, Monday to Friday.

 
Where you’ll be working:

You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team of experienced administrative professionals based across both the Newcastle Community Health Service and the Charlestown Community Services Centre. On-the-job training will be provided upon commencement, and you’ll receive continued guidance from your Administration Team Leader, who will work with you to develop a tailored training and onboarding plan to ensure your success.

  • You are a motivated and experienced administration officer with a strong commitment to community-focused healthcare. Your empathetic nature allows you to confidently interact with clients from diverse backgrounds, including those with complex needs.
  • You take pride in providing exceptional customer service and thrive in a team-oriented environment where respect and professionalism guide your communication.
  • You are flexible, organised, and able to manage a busy and varied workload with attention to detail.
  • Experience or familiarity with medical terminology and/or medical typing is highly regarded.
