The Medical Physics Scientific Officer will perform routine clinical and technical duties within the Medical Physics team in Cancer Services, providing essential support to the existing team of medical physicists.

The role requires diligent execution of assigned tasks to ensure timely completion of routine quality assurance activities and related responsibilities. Any deviations, discrepancies, or variances identified during routine work must be promptly escalated to the appropriate member of the medical physics team.

You will play a critical role in maintaining the accuracy, safety, and quality of radiation therapy services by assisting with equipment quality assurance procedures and patient-specific dosimetry activities, ensuring treatments are delivered in accordance with established clinical protocols and safety standards.

You will be responsible for providing scientific and technical support in the application of physics principles to medicine, particularly in diagnostic imaging, radiotherapy, and radiation protection. The role ensures safe, accurate, and effective use of radiation and medical equipment in clinical settings while supporting patient care and regulatory compliance.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can demonstrated ability to meet the essential requirements of the position, please upload and provide evidence of any qualifications or certificates which support your application.

     

  • Has strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and troubleshoot technical issues.

     

  • Can demonstrated understanding of medical physics principles, including dosimetry, treatment planning and radiation safety.
  • Can demonstrated understanding of the role of quality assurance in Radiation Oncology.
