Medical Laboratory Assistant - Anatomical Pathology

1. Demonstrated experience in Histology specimen accessioning, troubleshooting and processing, assisting medical/technical/scientific staff with direct, non‑complex and complex surgical cut up, training of new staff, and associated quality control exercises. 
2. Demonstrated experience in other laboratory duties including preparation of materials/chemicals, loading tissue processors, stores, filing, maintenance of equipment and specimen/consumables collection/delivery. 
3. Demonstrated ability to manage tasks in a demanding environment where there are competing priorities and time constraints, both independently and as part of a team. 
4. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, internal and external. 
5. Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills combined with the ability to investigate and resolve general issues. 
6. Proficient computer and data entry skills including high attention to detail and data accuracy. 
7. Demonstrated understanding of confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information in a laboratory setting, following relevant legislation, policies, and requirements.
8. Willingness to participate in a 24/7 rotating shift roster, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts, and the ability to travel to any site or location within the operational area as required.
