The People and Culture Directorate within Northern Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced people leader to join our team. This role works closely with peers across the People and Culture function as well as the Ryde Hospital Executive team to deliver effective, people focussed strategies and support. Ryde Hospital presents exciting opportunities as the hospital progresses through a transformative redevelopment due for completion in 2027. Where you'll be working
Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.
Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.
What you'll be doing
The People and Culture Manager is focused at a senior management level and the primary function is to provide leadership, strategic direction and guidance in the development, integration, review and co-ordination of workforce management issues. The position plays a pivotal role in managing organisational change through workforce and strategic planning, policies and programs and in managing industrial matters.
The position provides support to the Deputy Director HR Business Partner and key stakeholders on matters including but not limited to: - change management initiatives; reform agenda; workforce related policies and procedures; budget/financial performance as it relates to the Workforce activities in the assigned portfolio.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management, Employee Relations, Business, other relevant field and / or extensive professional experience in human resources management at a senior level in a large diverse service industry organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and manage a professional Workforce Services team in the provision of the full range of Workforce services across a multi-site business environment comprising diverse occupational streams to achieve corporate goals.
- Experience in integrating workforce issues into the strategic planning processes of a diverse organisation and managing the change process.
- Extensive experience in providing expert technical and specialised strategic Workforce/Employee Relations advice and consultancy services at a senior level in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills that enable sound decision making, timely responses, creative resolution based approaches and the development of sound policies and /or strategies to address issues.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, liaise, advise and negotiate with key stakeholders including management, staff, industrial organisations, other industry bodies and external agencies. Computer literacy appropriate to the level and responsibilities of the position.
Well-developed knowledge in preparing matters for Tribunals dealing with employment related issues.
