About the Role
Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
The role of the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) Manager, Medical Accreditation and Training, is to manage and support the Medical Training and Accreditation Initiative, focusing on ensuring innovative and sustainable systems for Medical Accreditation and Training across all medical specialty and prevocational training programs through the cohesive strategy, reinforced by clinician and Executive engagement.
The role is responsible for its continued implementation and coordination, working with key stakeholders involved in Medical Training and Accreditation and the related programs across SLHD especially in relation to medical accreditation, and to develop procedures, standards, tools and resources that provide value to senior clinicians involved in provision of medical training and accreditation.
Within SLHD, all junior doctors are recognised as doctors-in-training, regardless of whether they occupy a position formally “accredited” by the relevant Specialist Medical College. This role carries significant responsibilities across SLHD and requires extensive liaison and negotiation with a range of external stakeholders, including Specialist Medical Colleges, the Ministry of Health and its pillars, and regulatory authorities.
SLHD has also developed their Management Accountability Framework, to guide managers and department heads across all disciplines within SLHD in managing and supporting staff to build effective teams.
