The Aboriginal Governance and Accountability Business Partner, holds a strategic and influential position in promoting a culturally safe, inclusive, and supportive environment across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). Reporting to the Senior Manager, Aboriginal Health and Workforce, the role is central to embedding cultural integrity and responsiveness throughout ISLHD’s services, policies, governance, systems, and workforce initiatives.
The Aboriginal Governance and Accountability Business Partner provides expert advice and consultancy to strengthen the organisation’s cultural responsiveness that ensures Aboriginal perspectives are authentically reflected in decision-making and service delivery. The role actively engages with staff at all levels within the organisation and escalates matters of broader significance to inform systemic improvements within the District to the relevant divisions and portfolio leads, and teams.

From Helensburgh in the north to North Durras in the south, ISLHD covers an area of 5,687 square kms. This is a temporarily funded position until 30 June 2028 with the possibility of an extension subject to funding.
