We are seeking an experienced and motivated Maintenance Operations Manager to lead our hospital’s maintenance and engineering team. This pivotal role is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of maintenance services, ensuring that all facilities, plant, and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with relevant standards and legislation.
This role will see you manage and coordinate maintenance operations across all hospital facilities, lead a multidisciplinary team of maintenance and engineering staff, develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules and asset management plans, ensure compliance with NSW Health, WHS, and environmental standards, manage budgets, contracts, and service level agreements for maintenance activities and liaise with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders to prioritise and deliver maintenance works effectively.

What you will bring to the role
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated extensive experience at a management level in building services or in an engineering environment.
- Understanding and knowledge of engineering and facility management responsibilities, including but not limited to compliance codes, standards and procedures relevant to Hospitals and Healthcare facilities and the ability to conduct and supervise works at a level that complies with these codes and standards.
- Demonstrated experience in the successful development, implementation and sustained operation of planned preventative and corrective maintenance programs for a large asset portfolio.
- Demonstrated excellent negotiation, decision-making, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage constructively and collaboratively across all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated advanced writing capabilities and proven experience in preparing project and financial documentation, including business cases, briefing notes, and project reports.
- Demonstrated experience in managing budgets, contract administration, and compliant procurement across a large portfolio.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage workforce issues in a busy and diverse department, including performance development, human resources management, WH&S matters and staff compliance with registration and licensing requirements
- Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position).
