Join our dynamic NSLHD-MACARF Heart Failure Service and make a real impact on the lives of patients living with chronic cardiac conditions.  We’re seeking a motivated Clinical Nurse Specialist to deliver evidenced based care, supporting patient and carer through education, optimisation of therapy and self-management. Based at RNSH you will be visiting heart failure patients in the hospital, working in the heart failure clinic, and conducting home visits. The purpose of the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) position is to provide senior nursing clinical leadership in the development of specialist clinical practice and service delivery including using a RPM solution, within a nursing unit, team, or service. 
The CNS employs advanced clinical skills and exercises extended autonomy of decision making working closely with managers and other senior clinicians.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Nurse Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA) with relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification or such other qualifications or relevant equivalent experience.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development.
  3. Demonstrated experience in leading and initiating activities to improve clinical service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work individually and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
