HNE Health Libraries delivers high-quality, evidence-based information services that support clinical care, education and research across Hunter New England Local Health District.
Based at Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, this role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic rural and regional healthcare environment while being part of a connected district-wide library network. You will collaborate with experienced health library professionals across multiple sites to deliver responsive, innovative and customer-focused services that directly contribute to better health outcomes.

About the Role
As a Grade 1 Librarian, you will deliver a broad range of health library services and work across all aspects of library operations both independently and as part of a small supportive team.
In this varied and engaging role, you will:
- Deliver high-quality customer-focused library and information services
- Respond to literature search and information requests from clinicians, students and staff
- Deliver education and training programs in research and information literacy skills
- Promote library services, resources and facilities using a range of engagement strategies
- Develop partnerships and collaborative programs that support patient care, teaching, learning, research and innovation
- Support access to print and electronic resources through effective use of library management systems
- Undertake database searching and information retrieval across a range of sources
- Contribute to service improvement, innovation and emerging health library practices
- Work collaboratively across the district-wide HNE Health Libraries network
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values continuous learning and is motivated by supporting evidence-based healthcare.
Working Days/Hours:
- Monday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
- Tuesday or Wednesday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
- Thursday: 1:00pm – 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
About You

Highly Regarded:
- Experience using library management systems
- Experience delivering training in research or information literacy skills
- Experience in a health, academic or TAFE library environment
Essential Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training
- Eligibility for Associate (Professional) membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), or progress toward this qualification
