The Role
Sutherland Transitional Aged Care, known as STACS, is seeking an enthusiastic level 3 Podiatrist to join our multi-disciplinary team. This is a new position within the team and aims to provide initial podiatry input post an acute hospital admission an ongoing referral of care and management to other community services for participants of the program. The level 3 is supported operationally by the Nurse Unit Manager of STACS and professionally by the Podiatry Head of Department. Given this is a new position there will be consultation, set up and review processes to evaluate the podiatry service offered to STACS participants.
Plan, coordinate, and implement in-depth levels of clinical expertise and extensive specialised knowledge within Podiatry in order to provide high quality Podiatric care to patients of the Sutherland Hospital and Sutherland Transitional Aged Care Service (STACS) consistent with NSW Health, South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD) policies, procedures and standards.
This role includes responsibilities for provision and delivery of supervision conjunction with the Podiatry Head of Department, quality improvement initiatives, education delivery to other health care professionals and the teaching of students on clinical placement.

Selection Criteria:
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and AHPRA with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional learning.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in Podiatric care
- Excellent negotiation, decision making and advocacy skills including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders, throughout all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level clinical advice, education and support to others
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to apply advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a complex nature.
- Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes.
- Demonstrated ability to participate in staff and/or student supervision
- Current NSW drivers licence and a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
