About the Role:

As the JMO Support Officer, you will become an integral member of Armidale Hospital’s Medical Administration team, a close-knit and supportive group dedicated to delivering high-quality administrative services to medical staff across the facility.

In this diverse and rewarding role, you will play a key part in supporting Junior Medical Officers (JMOs) throughout their placement journey, coordinating roster maintenance, arranging travel, accommodation and vehicle hire, and assisting with the seamless engagement of locum medical practitioners. Working collaboratively with departments across the hospital, you will help ensure medical workforce operations run efficiently while contributing to a positive experience for both JMOs and locum doctors.

Armidale Hospital provides a broad range of specialist and acute healthcare services, including General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Nephrology and Urology, alongside specialty outpatient clinics and community health programs. This varied clinical environment offers exposure to a wide range of medical specialties and healthcare professionals.

The JMO Support Officer will provide administrative support to the JMO Coordinator, Medical Administration Manager and broader department, including maintaining HealthRoster records, coordinating meetings, preparing minutes and assisting with medical workforce administration. Reporting to the Director of Medical Services and the Medical Administration Manager, you will be supported with comprehensive onboarding, role-specific training and ongoing professional development opportunities.

This temporary position offers valuable exposure to healthcare administration within a dynamic hospital setting, with opportunities to broaden your skills, gain experience across other areas of the hospital and build a strong foundation for future career opportunities within the health service.
