ABOUT THE ROLE



In order to support the changing priorities of Workforce Planning and Programs within the People and Culture Directive. HR Officers within Workforce Planning and Programs will be undertaking a range of human resources related functions and activities including recruitment, human resources and human resources reporting. In order to support the changing priorities of the People & Culture Directorate, HR Officers will rotate through all sections of the Directorate undertaking a range of human resources related functions and activities including recruitment, human resources, learning and development, healthy workplace strategies and human resources reporting. As the first point of contact for a range of People & Cultures clients, the role of a HR Officer is to provide effective and timely administrative support for a range of functions within People & Culture Workforce Planning and Programs requiring flexibility and adaptability and the ability to learn new functional activities and concepts quickly, ultimately becoming familiar with the key duties of administrative requirements within the identified sections. While activities undertaken in Workforce Planning and Programs will be directly aligned to the work within a specific portfolio, duties may include the use of Microsoft Office to generate a range of documentation, clerical support, use of associated People & Culture Software programs to enter and maintain records and reporting, liaising and obtaining information relevant to recruitment and staff movement processes, documentation and file management including use of TRIM and StaffLink, and database maintenance.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following experience and attributes:

  • Adept at interpreting and applying relevant policies and procedures to fulfil organisational goals. 
  • Skilled in delivering operational support by responding to inquiries, accurately resolving queries, sharing precise information, and escalating issues as necessary. 
  • Competent in handling high-level administrative tasks with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Experienced in reporting on various matters, with the ability to provide progress updates, highlight trends, and support decision-making. 
  • Strong focus on building and maintaining relationships across a large organisation. 
  • A team player dedicated to collaborating to enhance service delivery.
