What you'll be doing
This position is required to provide specialist Clinical Psychology services for infants, children, adolescents, parents, and families of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) Cardiac Service.
The position of Clinical Psychologist will ensure that:
- Excellent, evidence-based psychological care is provided to children and their families.
- Research, teaching, and supervision activities of the clinical team are actively supported.
The position is expected to provide psychological screening, assessment, testing, psychoeducation, intervention, and treatment for infants, children, and young people with all forms of childhood-onset heart disease and their families.
Collaboration within a high-performing, multidisciplinary team of health professionals and contribution to the research and teaching activities of the program are also expected.
The position will abide by the hospital code of conduct and participate in annual performance reviews for clinical services in accordance with the Clinical Psychologist (State) Award.
Applicants currently enrolled in a combined Masters/PhD are eligible to apply if they have completed the equivalent of Masters degree requirements as part of the PhD pathway. Evidence of this is demonstrated by a completed PDEC-76 form and cover letter from the University confirming Masters degree requirements have been met.
Applicants are eligible to apply if they have completed an accredited Masters degree and are awaiting their graduation ceremony. Written confirmation from the University is required.
Successful applicants who have completed the Masters degree or Masters degree requirements and are awaiting full registration from the Psychology Board of Australia will be paid at Year 2 of the Psychologist Scale until they have full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia, at which point they will commence on Year 1 of the Clinical Psychologist scale.
