About the Role:

Ready to make a real impact in a high-stakes environment? Belmont Hospital is looking for a reliable and committed Health and Security Assistant to join our team.
In this dual-purpose role, you’ll be at the forefront of patient and staff safety, while also playing a hands-on part in supporting clinical care. From responding to Code Black incidents to escorting patients and assisting with general cleaning duties, no two days will be the same - and that’s exactly how you like it.
You’ll work side-by-side with nursing and clinical teams to provide a secure, supportive environment for everyone who walks through our doors.


In this role, you’ll:

  • Be responsible for cleaning of the Sub-Acute Unit on a daily basis
  • Assist nursing staff with patient care and comfort
  • Provide security support and help manage aggressive or high-risk situations
  • Escort and transport patients throughout the hospital
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness in line with hospital standards
  • Be a key part of our Code Black response team

 

About You:

You’re calm under pressure, clear-headed, and not afraid to step into challenging situations with confidence and care. Your security licence isn’t just for show - you know how to de-escalate tension, communicate effectively, and back your team up in critical moments.
 

You must have:

  • A current NSW security licence - Master Licence Number: 407686382
  • A valid first aid certificate
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts
  • The ability to remain professional and compassionate - even in tough scenarios

Additional Information:

  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.
  • This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia.
