An exciting opportunity for an experienced senior media professional to lead media strategy for Western Sydney Local Health District.
This is a fast-paced role for a multi-skilled professional adept in the health or government sector in a large organisation where no two days are the same.

What you'll be doing
As Head of Content and Media, you will lead the editorial vision and oversee the delivery of compelling, timely and strategic communications that elevate the organisation’s voice and reputation.
You will be responsible for generating content and sharing powerful stories with real impact and managing media responses for one of Australia’s largest local health districts covering Westmead, Blacktown, Mount Druitt, Auburn, Cumberland and the future Rouse Hill Hospital.
Lead and mentor a small team to deliver high-quality, multi-channel content
Develop and execute content strategies aligned to organisational priorities
Manage proactive and reactive media opportunities, including complex enquiries
Analyse performance metrics to optimise engagement and reach
Build strong relationships and lead media training for senior stakeholders

How to Apply

Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent proven professional experience in journalism, communications, media content creation or related field.
Demonstrated high level ability to identify content opportunities and story angles and to research, creatively develop, produce, write and edit compelling and engaging content for a range of channels, along with proven experience working with the media either in a newsroom or in a communications team with ability to pitch and manage media opportunities.
Ability to identify risk and provide media strategy advice around contentious issues to Director Corporate Communications and senior executives.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal and motivation skills and experience managing a team and providing appropriate mentoring and performance appraisal to achieve key communication outcomes.
Demonstrated ability to strategically plan, manage and coordinate communication campaigns, corporate events, VIP and media visits.
Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and problem-solve to manage multiple conflicting deadlines ensuring the team is able to respond to new and emerging media issues or story opportunities in a timely manner.
Demonstrated knowledge of new and emerging communication channels and techniques, including social media and analytics.
Valid NSW Drivers Licence and be willing to use it for work purposes.
