About the Role
Join the team at Glen Innes Hospital and contribute to the delivery of essential maintenance services across the Glen Innes and Tablelands sector.
In this role, you will participate in regular Tool Box Talks and work collaboratively with the team to review and prioritise tasks based on the needs of the service. You will attend to maintenance requirements as they arise and ensure all work and activities are appropriately documented.
You’ll be supported by an experienced team of four, including two skilled tradespeople and a handyman with more than 30 years’ combined experience across the Glen Innes and Tablelands sector. You’ll have access to orientation and training opportunities, as well as support from administration and the Health Service Manager, with additional in-reach support from Facilities Management Unit (FMU) and Work Health and Safety (WHS).
Where You’ll Be Working
Glen Innes is located on the New England Highway, approximately six hours north of Sydney and four hours south of Brisbane. Known as the “Celtic Capital of Australia”, this charming agricultural town is surrounded by World Heritage national parks and renowned for its sapphire fields, cool summers, English-like winters and vibrant spring and autumn colours.
Glen Innes Hospital is part of the New England North West Rural and Regional Health Service and is located within the Glen Innes Severn Shire Government Area. The hospital is a 24-bed Level 3 rural hospital, including a two-bay, four-bed Emergency Department, and provides medical, obstetric and day surgery services.
The hospital is currently undergoing a $50 million redevelopment of its Emergency Department, which will deliver a new, fit-for-purpose facility designed to provide flexible clinical services and contemporary models of care for the Glen Innes community, now and into the future.
