General Manager, Mental Health Services

Remuneration: $189,878 - $207,381 per annum

As we transition the Mental Health Services from Cumberland Hospital to an integrated service on the Westmead Precinct in the coming years you will play a critical role in the design and implementation of a new and innovative delivery of care for Mental Health Services across the community of western Sydney.

What you'll be doing
As the General Manager, Mental Health Services, you will lead the strategic, operational and governance functions of the directorate and will report to the Executive Director Operations. You will drive service performance, culture, resource stewardship and long-term planning to ensure Mental Health Services meet community needs and deliver high-quality, responsive and cost-effective care.

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead, plan and manage Mental Health Services to meet Western Sydney Local Health District and NSW Health priorities

  • Oversee governance, performance, service operations and end-to-end resource management

  • Drive service quality, safety, policy development, reform initiatives and workforce capability

  • Build strong partnerships across acute, community, interagency and stakeholder groups

  • Monitor trends, evaluate performance, and implement service improvements that enhance patient experience and outcomes

How to Apply

  1. Tertiary degree in health administration, business, management or other relevant discipline or equivalent extensive senior management experience in line with the position.

  2. Extensive proven experience at a senior management level in a substantial and complex organisation engaged in service delivery.

  3. Ability to apply superior planning skills to coordinating and implementing long term strategic and business plans and major projects, including capital work redevelopment.

  4. Demonstrated high level proficiency in financial management and governance to provide direction to achieve financial goals for service.

  5. Demonstrated ability to proactively identify and analyse potential problems at an organisational level and implement solutions through delegation.

  6. Demonstrated ability to lead a diverse range of staff across clinical and corporate functions to deliver high quality integrated services.

  7. Demonstrated application of knowledge and expertise in service delivery across a diverse range of care sectors, in advocacy for positive change in a broad range of community and government forums.

  8. Proven track record of creating long lasting relationships, built on trust, with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
