Selection Criteria

 

Please outline how you satisfy the selection criteria listed below. In addressing the selection criteria, include any relevant skills, knowledge, qualifications and experience:

 

1.     Current medical practitioner registered or eligible for specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australian New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award/Health Services Act 1997 and Public Hospitals (Visiting Medical Officers Sessional Contracts) Determination 2014.

2.     Demonstrated current clinical practice in psychiatry and subspecialty relevant to position of a high standard, with ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice, including in acute adult psychiatry.

3.     Demonstrated effective communication skills (written and verbal), clinical skills, judgement and expertise, teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills in a clinical setting.

4.     Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.

5.     Demonstrated track record in supervision and training of junior medical staff, including prevocational and advanced trainees.

6.     Evidence of the following attributes: ability to work under pressure; ability to work effectively as part of a team; ability to be flexible, organised and autonomous.

7.     Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and professional development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education and continuing professional development.

8.     Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of the Western Sydney Local Health District, including the provision of services to local community, effective use of resources, preparedness to participate in provision of health services at District level, if credentialed.

9.     Valid NSW Drivers Licence or other eligible licence and the ability to drive
