Ryde Hospital
 

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.


What you'll be doing
The incumbent will provide appropriate management to deliver effective and efficient fire prevention/management services to support the clinical services maintaining a patient focused approach to care. This position has the primary responsibility for:

  • Coordination and management of fire safety and compliance across the Ryde Hospital campus and Community Health Centre (CHC) 
  • Ensuring fire services meet and comply with NSW Health policies and procedures, Accreditation Standards and all legislative requirements. 

The position provides expert technical and operational advice to support the Ryde Hospital Redevelopment, working collaboratively with NSW Health Infrastructure at each stage of the redevelopment project. The position is accountable for the development, review, evaluation and delivery of relevant fire safety training programs ensuring consistency across all facilities within Ryde Hospital and Community Health Centre.  
 

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background encouraged to apply.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

 

  1. Fire Safety Officer (Health) Accreditation Course, with Fire and Rescue NSW. or equivalent in accordance with NSW Health Circular No 2010/24; completed Module of Certificate IV in Workplace Assessment and Training(TAE40110 or equivalent); current NSW Driver’s Licence and a minimum of 2 years experience in the health care industry as a Fire Safety Officer or suitable equivalent.
  2. Good working knowledge and application of the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, building compliance and all fire regulations/legislation with demonstrated experience in fire safety, emergency procedures and planning.
  3. Demonstrated experience with managing third party service providers to support a strong regulatory and reporting compliance regime and strong contract performance culture.
