What You'll Be Doing

As an Enrolled Nurse in the StEPS Vision Screening Program at Inverell Community Health Service you will be conducting free vision screenings for 4-year-old children across early childhood centres, preschools and schools; documenting screening results and communicate the findings to families; coordinating referrals with health professionals; managing your own clinical schedules with travel to various community sites; collaborating with the team through regular communication and support. If you’re looking for variety in your role we want to hear from you!

You won’t be working alone. You will be supported by the coordinator, senior staff and colleagues with ongoing opportunities to ask questions and build confidence in the role. Successful applicants will receive a comprehensive orientation, including hands-on training in vision screening; use of equipment; referral pathways; and data systems.

Who You Are

  • AHPRA-registered Enrolled Nurse.
  • NSW drivers licence and willingness to travel.
  • Warm, approachable, and able to build rapport with young children and families.
  • Organised, reliable, and confident working independently while also being a strong team player.
  • Comfortable using technology for documentation and communication.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing environments, travel requirements, and clinic schedules.
  • An essential commitment to child safety and wellbeing, strong communication skills, and accuracy in documentation.
