About the Opportunity

Join HNE Health’s maintenance team, supporting the safe and reliable operation of hospital and community health facilities across six locations. Working alongside Health Service Managers, a Plumber, Carpenter and Handymen, you will also have support from Maintenance Administration.

About the Role

You will manage maintenance work requests through the maintenance software system, prioritising tasks and recording detailed information, including start and finish times, materials used and costs.

Your responsibilities will include monitoring the Building Management System (BMS), carrying out air conditioning and refrigeration repairs, diagnosing faults, liaising with suppliers and sourcing replacement parts. You will also undertake inspections, preventative maintenance and corrective repairs across hospital and community health facilities, within your training, skills and competence.

Working collaboratively with other trades, you will contribute to daily maintenance activities, new projects and building refurbishments. You will report on breakdowns, completed repairs and planned preventative maintenance, helping identify and address system failures and defects to minimise disruption to essential services and patient care.

You will estimate and order materials in line with HNE Health processes and ensure all work complies with applicable Building Code of Australia (BCA) requirements, Local Authority requirements and Australian Standards.

The role also includes ongoing training to develop your maintenance skills and knowledge, completion of mandatory HNE Health requirements and other duties as directed by Maintenance Department management, where your skills permit.

About You

You are committed to safe work practices and ensuring all work meets relevant standards, legislation, policies and procedures. You build positive workplace relationships, contribute to a supportive team culture and take accountability for your performance.

You will also have knowledge of the BMS or be willing to learn the system.

Requirements:

  • Trade qualifications in Electrical, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration and a current NSW electrical licence.
