About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced District Manager Operations – that will be based in our Aboriginal Health & Wellbeing Directorate of Murrumbidgee Local Health District.  in this critical and influential leadership role  

In this role, you will provide operational leadership, management, supervision and support to Aboriginal Health Workers (AHWs) and Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs) with a focus on supporting culturally appropriate primary health care across the District ensuring the delivery of high-quality, culturally safe services for Aboriginal people, families and carers.  

You will lead performance management, strategic and business plan delivery, cultural safety and system support, complaints and case management, as well as financial and reporting accountability aligned with District priorities.

About You

Our ideal candidate must demonstrate:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (this is a genuine occupational qualification under Section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)).
  • Proven experience in operational leadership and people management, ideally within Aboriginal health, primary health care or community services.
  • Strong ability to build trusted relationships and work collaboratively with communities, executives and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, continuous improvement and system reform that improves health equity.
