Bowral & District Hospital is a regional hospital dedicated to delivering exceptional care to the community of the Southern Highlands. As part of South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD), the hospital operates within a networked health system that fosters collaboration and innovation across facilities. In this role, you will provide strategic leadership and accountability for the Nursing and Midwifery Service and its workforce. The Director will lead system change, improve access performance, and champion the collaborative development of contemporary models of care. This position requires a forward-thinking leader who can inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of the community.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Post Graduate qualifications in management, leadership or equivalent, as deemed appropriate by SWSLHD and extensive senior nursing management experience in an acute hospital setting, as deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
2. Can you share your experience in leading nursing and midwifery teams, managing services, and ensuring the effective use of human, physical, and financial resources to deliver safe, compassionate, and culturally responsive care?
3. How have you demonstrated strategic leadership in setting goals, formulating plans, and implementing organisational change, risk management, and quality improvement initiatives, while maintaining systems for governance and safe patient care?
4. Can you provide examples of how you have effectively communicated and engaged with patients, carers, and multidisciplinary teams, represented nursing services in internal and external forums, and managed conflicts or performance issues professionally?
