The role
The Director of Finance, St George Hospital will partner effectively with the St George Hospital General Manager and members of the Executive maintaining overall leadership, accountability and management of the facility's financial performance. This role will work alongside the professional leadership and guidance of the District Director of Finance for the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District (SESLHD). This position provides visible and accessible leadership promoting a positive workplace culture based on the NSW Health (MoH) CORE values and the values of SESLHD.

Selection Criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated extensive and successful finance, business strategy and performance experience at an executive level.
- Extensive experience in the management of a complex budget with quantitative improvements in business performance.
- Proven record at a senior executive level in finance and strategy for a diverse and complex organisation, and taking lead of a multidisciplinary team to drive the achievement of organisational goals.
- Experience in the development, management and improvement of financial and business systems, change management initiatives and implementation of performance measurement processes.
- Demonstrated ability in providing leadership, monitoring, education and training of Cost Centre Managers in the access, monitoring, analysis and usage of business or performance systems / data bases.
- Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication skills including strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of Human Resource Management, Industrial Relations and Workplace Health & Safety best practice and statutory responsibilities.
- Demonstrated understanding of the Accounts and Audit Determination; applicable financial/ management policies & Corporate Governance responsibilities.
