Lead the Allied Health team within NSW’s largest Mental Health Service. WSLHD Mental Health Service is delivering a once‑in‑a‑generation transformation, transitioning Australia’s oldest mental health hospital into a new, purpose‑built, integrated facility.

Location: Cumberland Hospital, North Parramatta with an expectation to travel across the district

You’ll be based at Cumberland Hospital, North Parramatta, part of Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD) – NSW’s largest and Australia’s oldest mental health facility. The service is undergoing a once‑in‑a‑generation transformation as part of the new Integrated Mental Health Complex at Westmead.

What you'll be doing 
As a key member of the Senior Executive Team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for Allied Health services within Mental Health, partnering closely with Medical and Nursing leadership to improve outcomes for consumers and communities.

You will:

  • Lead, manage and coordinate allied health services across the Mental Health portfolio

  • Drive strategic, clinical, workforce and financial planning aligned to service priorities

  • Provide executive‑level advice on allied health governance, models of care and performance

  • Build a sustainable, high‑performing multidisciplinary workforce through strong people leadership

  • Champion safe, evidence‑based practice, research, education and continuous improvement

 

You will also participate in the executive on‑call roster and contribute to district‑wide allied health strategy as a member of the Allied Health Executive.

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Allied Health and relevant professional registration. Where professional registration does not exist, membership or eligibility for practising membership of relevant peak professional body/association would be acceptable.

  2. Post graduate qualifications in health services management/ equivalent experience/ willingness to work towards post graduate experience in management

  3. Broad high-level clinical and operational management experience within a complex mental health environment with demonstrated experience in strategic thinking processes

  4. Demonstrated, knowledge and experience in management of complex human resource and administrative matters

  5. Demonstrated high level leadership skills in problem solving/negotiation and change management

  6. Demonstrated experience in budgetary and financial management within allocated resources

  7. Proven interpersonal skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills

  8. Proven skills and experience in facility and clinical service planning, patient safety and quality systems and patient flow management
