About the role and where you will be working

Tamworth offers the best of regional living — a vibrant, growing city surrounded by stunning countryside, a welcoming community and an incredible lifestyle.

Tamworth Hospital is a 288-bed major referral hospital providing a diverse range of services including Intensive Care, Medical, Surgical, Paediatric, Mental Health, Cancer and Renal services. Our Pharmacy Department also supports 12 rural and regional hospitals across the New England North West, providing an exciting breadth of clinical and leadership opportunities. Join a proactive, experienced and supportive team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who work together to solve problems, improve services and deliver outstanding care to our community.

The Opportunity - As Deputy Director of Pharmacy, you’ll play a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of the Pharmacy Department and shaping the future of pharmacy services across the region.

You’ll:

  • Lead and support a diverse pharmacy team
  • Drive high-quality professional services and medication safety
  • Support education, training and professional development
  • Lead quality improvement and service development
  • Contribute to pharmacy policy and strategic initiatives
  • Represent pharmacy through local and district committees and working groups

This is an opportunity to lead with purpose, develop people and services, and make a real difference across regional NSW.

Join us in Tamworth — where you can grow your career, lead a great team and enjoy a lifestyle that’s hard to beat.

About you

You’re ready to take the next step in your professional and leadership journey and make a real impact in a busy, growing regional health service.

You bring energy, ideas and a commitment to continuous improvement, with the drive to optimise pharmacy services and help shape the future of pharmacy at a major regional hospital.

You’ll have established or developing leadership experience, with the ability to lead a diverse team, manage competing priorities and navigate the demands of a busy service. An understanding of healthcare governance, hospital operations and pharmacy business is important — but just as important is your ability to connect with people, build relationships and bring others along with you.

Most importantly, you’re someone who is collaborative, adaptable and motivated to make a difference — to your team, your service and the patients and communities you serve.
