About the Role

The Deputy Director of Finance (DDoF) is responsible for providing support and assistance to the Executive Director of Finance to facilitate the effective and efficient planning and reporting on the use of the District's financial resources, monitoring the budget performance and providing timely, regular reporting to key stakeholders on financial and budget performance.  

The DDoF provides day-to-day leadership of the Financial Accounting and Management Accounting teams, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation of statutory and management reports. The role also supports the implementation of effective financial controls and practices in accordance with Ministry of Health and Local Health District financial management policies and requirements.

Ideal Candidate

 

  • Holds a tertiary qualification in management in business, accounting, economics and/or related field and extensive experience that has allowed the applicant to obtain full membership of an Australian professional accounting body.
  • Has extensive experience in leading diverse management accounting and financial accounting teams in a large and complex organisation, preferably within the public health system.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial budgeting, forecasting, activity-based funding, reporting and analysis, annual financial accounts and audit program.
