Northern NSW LHD is seeking an experienced and motivated Deputy Chief Radiation Therapist to lead our Radiation Therapy team at Lismore Base Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to advance your career while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of the stunning Northern Rivers region.

About the role

As Deputy Chief Radiation Therapist, you will lead and coordinate the daily operations of the Radiation Therapy team. A key part of the role is fostering a strong safety culture, supporting staff wellbeing, and driving service innovation initiatives that enhance patient safety. You will drive local clinical quality by leading responses to clinical risks or incidents, including investigations and developing improvement strategies.

Working closely with the Chief Radiation Therapist, you will support strategic and operational planning and maintain clear communication across the team and with key stakeholders. The role has a strong focus on improving patient experiences and clinical outcomes through leadership in clinical research, innovation, and continuous quality improvement.

Our Lismore department is currently undergoing exciting growth, with the installation of two Elekta EVO linear accelerators featuring adaptive workflow capabilities. Our modern services include IMRT/VMAT, a comprehensive stereotactic program, SGRT with tattoo-less techniques, 4DCT, and image-guided treatment protocols. These technologies create opportunities for professional development within our team, clinical advancement, and service improvement.

We offer flexible work arrangements, including full-time hours condensed into a 4-day week or a 9-day fortnight, to support a healthy work-life balance.

Lismore is just 30 minutes from the beautiful coastlines of Byron Bay and Ballina and within easy reach of charming hinterland towns such as Bangalow, Alstonville, and Mullumbimby. The Gold Coast is a one-hour drive north, with easy access to Brisbane.

This is your chance to take the next step in your career and make a meaningful impact on our team, our patients, and our community.
