Where you'll be working
You’ll be based at the Department of Paediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, Westmead Hospital, within the Westmead Centre for Oral Health—one of NSW’s largest and most advanced public oral health facilities. As part of Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD), you’ll contribute to delivering better health services for western Sydney and beyond in a collaborative, inclusive, and patient‑centred environment.

What you'll be doing
In this hands-on clinical support role, you’ll assist clinicians and student clinicians to deliver safe, high‑quality oral health care across WSLHD facilities while ensuring excellent patient experiences.
Prepare clinical areas, instruments, materials and equipment for dental procedures
Assist during treatment, including instrument transfer, moisture control and patient support
Provide oral health and post‑operative education to patients and carers
Maintain high standards of infection prevention, sterilisation and workplace safety
Support dental radiography, digital record management and essential administrative tasks

Essential Requirements:
Qualification: Certificate III in Dental Assisting or recognised equivalent/current enrolment in the course
Selection Criteria:
Certificate III in Dental Assisting or recognised equivalent or experience and willingness to undertake and successfully
Recent experience as a Dental Assistant.
Demonstrated ability to perform effective infection control procedures in all aspects of Dental Assisting.
Demonstrated proficiency and accuracy in dental charting with good computer skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with proven ability to liaise with a wide range of individuals.
Demonstrated understanding of work health safety requirements
Excellent organisational, time-management and problem-solving skills.
