About the Role

The Database Manager is responsible for data management related to clinical activities across the Structural Heart Program (SHP) and Cardiothoracic Department at RPA Hospital, specifically the Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) and Mitral/Tricuspid programs within the SHP, and Thoracic Program within the Cardiothoracic Department. This involves varied duties including data collection, data entry, data review and validation, and analysis and reporting. The position is accountable for the development and maintenance of databases within these  programs for purposes including quality improvement and research; and ensuring high-quality and timely deliverables internally and to relevant external registries/professional bodies in line with reporting requirements. 
 
The position has a role in supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of processes and systems to support clinical governance strategies aimed at improving the safety and quality of healthcare within Sydney Local Health District.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications and/or equivalent work experience, demonstrated previous research experience in clinical, public health or health services research.
  • High-level skills in quantitative research including database management and manipulation, project management, comprehensive statistical analysis skills and report writing.
  • Evidence of participation in the presentation of study findings, including the ability to develop study protocols, reports and publications.
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills including demonstrated experience working on concurrent projects.
