Where you’ll be working
Based within the Newcastle and Raymond Terrace Community Nursing team, you’ll be part of a highly collaborative service delivering care across the Hunter and Lower Mid North Coast region. Working Monday to Friday (8:00am–4:30pm), you’ll operate out of Community Health Centres and in the community, providing hands-on nursing care in clients’ homes and clinics.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine impact outside of a hospital setting — connecting with people where they live and supporting them to stay safe and well at home. Our team culture is grounded in mutual support, shared learning, and the NSW Health CORE values of Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment.
About the role
As a Community Enrolled Nurse, you’ll provide person-centred, evidence-based care under the indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse, working alongside individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Visiting clients in their homes or attending clinic appointments to provide therapeutic care.
- Wound assessment and clinical management, including compression bandaging.
- Urinary catheter care and maintenance.
- Palliative care support, helping clients and families through sensitive and important stages of care.
- Prioritising client needs and providing timely referrals to other services.
- Delivering clear handovers to RNs and colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll use your practical skills and professional judgement while building strong therapeutic relationships within the community.
About you
You are a motivated and compassionate Enrolled Nurse who thrives in a team environment and enjoys the variety of community work. You bring:
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Clinical capability across wound, continence, and medication management.
- The ability to work both independently in the community and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong communication skills, with a focus on person-centred care and advocacy.
- A commitment to lifelong learning and to the NSW Health CORE values.
Requirements
- Enrolled Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence and ability to work across Newcastle and Raymond Terrace regions.
