Where you'll be working
Join our passionate and innovative Integrated Care Hunter and Mid North Coast Community Diabetes Education Team as a Dietitian (0.6 FTE, 3 days per week). This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of people living with diabetes across the region.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide expert medical nutrition therapy, education and support to people with diabetes and their carers, empowering them to achieve better health outcomes and self-management skills.

Our service delivers care across a diverse range of community locations including Newcastle, Wallsend, Belmont, Toronto, Cessnock, Maitland and Raymond Terrace, offering varied and engaging clinical experiences. The Opportunity
As a Dietitian within the Integrated Care Hunter and Mid North Coast Community Diabetes Education Team, you will provide comprehensive, evidence-based nutrition assessment, education and medical nutrition therapy to people living with diabetes across community settings. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will support patients and their carers to develop practical self-management skills that improve health outcomes and quality of life.

A significant component of this role involves the management of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), and experience in this area would be highly desirable. You will also provide care and education for people with Type 1, Type 2 and Type 3c diabetes, delivering both individual and group-based interventions.
This position reports to the Service Manager of the Integrated Care Hunter and Mid North Coast Community Diabetes Education Team. The position will have full Orientation to the service, including clinical supervision plus ongoing support from the senior Dietitians.

Requirements

1.  Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in nutrition and dietetics that provides eligibility for full membership of the Dietitians Association of Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.
