About the Role:

We are seeking motivated and detail-focused Medical Administration Officers to join our Medical Administration team. In this role, you’ll work closely with Medical Officers and key stakeholders to support the smooth, compliant operation of medical workforce services.

This is a role for someone who enjoys responsibility, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of accuracy and communication in healthcare. Your work will directly support clinical services and contribute to safe, effective patient care across the organisation.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage and maintain Junior Medical Officer (JMO) rosters for allocated specialties
  • Approve leave requests and ensure appropriate roster coverage
  • Accurately enter shifts into HealthRoster
  • Liaise with the Locum Management Unit to arrange locum coverage when required
  • Coordinate travel and accommodation for locums and visiting medical staff
  • Communicate effectively with medical staff and internal stakeholders to ensure continuity of service

You are organised, reliable, and capable of managing competing priorities with confidence. You take pride in accuracy, understand the importance of compliance, and communicate clearly with a wide range of people.


You will bring:

  • Strong administrative, organisational, and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • A professional and discreet approach when handling confidential information
  • A willingness to learn new systems, processes, and workflows
  • Experience in medical administration, rostering, or workforce coordination is highly regarded, but not essential. Training and support will be provided for the right candidate.

  • An eligibility list will be created for future temporary full or part time vacancies.  
  • This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.
  • To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
