Remuneration: Dependent on Qualifications

  • Counsellor & Social Worker Level 4 - $61.35 - $62.84 per hour

  • Senior Psychologist - $60.12 - $65.14 per hour

What you'll be doing 
As the Clinical Senior – Counselling, you’ll lead the delivery of high-quality counselling services for children and families, ensuring integrated, accessible, and culturally appropriate care. You’ll supervise staff, manage clinical operations, and contribute to service planning and evaluation.

  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and governance for counselling services

  • Coordinate referrals, caseloads, and service access across sites

  • Deliver direct client care and maintain a proportional clinical caseload

  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance service integration

  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and workforce development planning

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification: Tertiary qualifications in Social Work; Psychology or Counsellors with a minimum Bachelor degree in counselling or a related field, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer and eligibility for registration with the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ARCAP), as defined within the NSW Health Service Health Professionals Award

  • Registration:   Eligibility for membership of Australia Association of Social Workers; or eligibility for registration with the Australian Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (ARCAP), as defined within the NSW Health Service Health Professionals Award; or Current Full Registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 


Selection Criteria:

  1. Substantial postgraduate Social Work, Psychology or Counselling clinical practice and supervision skills within a Child Adolescent and Family and/or relevant adult service in a multidisciplinary setting. Previous experience working in a community setting.

  2. Demonstrated experience working with children and families with vulnerabilities from various backgrounds, socioeconomic and psychosocial situations.

  3. Understanding of processes for implementing and improving client safety, client flow, continuum of care and response times for clinical services.

  4. Ability to work in partnership to lead, develop, coordinate and evaluate Child and Family Counselling services across multiple sites.

  5. Experience and commitment to providing professional and clinical supervision and support to staff.

  6. Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills (including computer competence and ability to use electronic health records), initiative, and time management skills.

  7. Current Drivers Licence valid within Australia.
