RNSH, Burns and Plastics

What you'll be doing
The Clinical Psychologist will support patients during their admission under the Burns, Plastics, Maxillofacial and Reconstructive Service and outpatient visits. The position will provide assessment and treatment of psychological issues that impact on adjustment to the acute and chronic injuries and also impact on engagement in the rehabilitation process within a multi-disciplinary service.

Working with the multidisciplinary team and in partnership with other service providers, the Clinical Psychologist provides evidence based psychological assessment, psychometric assessment when indicated and psychological treatment through individual, family parenting and group treatment programs.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.


Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Masters or Doctorate level post graduate qualification in Clinical Psychology from an APAC accredited University and Full Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of patients with burn injury related mental health problems.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to work in a multidisciplinary team environment.
