About the Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team, committed to providing high quality person centred mental health care for older people.
Older People’s Mental Health (OPMH) is recruiting to a permanent part time Clinical Psychologist within the Bankstown Older People’s Mental Health Community Team. The Team operates within a collaborative and supportive work environment and is part of a larger District OPMH Service in which continuing professional development is highly valued.
The South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) Mental Health Service provides quality mental health care to residents across south western Sydney. Our services provide assessment and treatment for a range of mental health needs and disorders and our priorities include early intervention and promoting mental health in our community.
What You'll be Doing
To deliver specialist psychological and psychosocial assessment, diagnosis, interventions and consultation in order to address the needs of consumers who are living with complex mental health problems and disorders.
The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organisational needs.

- Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.
- Demonstrated competence in a wide range of psychological assessments and evidence based psychological treatments delivered on an individual and/or group basis
- Demonstrated experience working independently in the provision of patient/consumer-focused care.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to accomplish service goals and improved patient and/or consumer care and outcomes.
- Demonstrated high level verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit the target audience.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
