Hawkesbury District Health Service is a teaching hospital in Windsor NSW, providing acute, community and allied health services for the local community and surrounding districts. The service provides 24-hour emergency, medical, surgical, diagnostic, maternity, neonatal, paediatric, palliative, intensive and coronary care services.
An exciting Permanent Part Time opportunity within Hawkesbury Emergency Department has opened up for a Clinical Nurse/Midwife Educator (CNME). The successful incumbent will provide safe, compassionate, person-centred health care in collaboration with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams. The CNE/CME works in consultation with the Nursing/Midwifery Unit Manager in identifying, developing, implementing, and evaluating education for staff working within the ward/unit.
The role ensures provision of clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation and professional development support for all nursing/midwifery staff and students and be expected to teach courses appropriate to nursing/midwifery within facilities across the district. Candidates with substantial Accident/Emergency department experience and holds relevant qualification are encouraged to apply.

What you will bring to the role
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA).
- Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications in critical care, or such ED education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes that align with NSW Health's organisation's CORE values of; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, when interacting with staff, patients, consumers, and carers.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, feedback and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and engage people in the clinical setting and work professionally in a multidisciplinary team
- Evidence of computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and record management systems.
