The role

The Clinical Nurse Educator provides support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs; assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures. 
The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build: 

  • The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.
  • A patient and family focused culture that supports the NUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.
  • The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

Ideal Candidate

  • Has a current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Has the relevant post registration experience, extensive knowledge of RPA Emergency Department policy and procedure and models of care and also be competent to work in all areas of a tertiary Emergency Department

     

  • Able to work 8 hours per week on a 7 day rotating roster
