Where you'll be working:
Located in New Lambton Heights within the vibrant city of Newcastle, the John Hunter Hospital Operating Suite is the busiest level 6 trauma unit in NSW. Close to beaches, shopping, and all the conveniences Newcastle offers, our facility features 15 Operating Rooms and a vascular interventional suite, running 24/7 to deliver world-class surgical care. We provide high-level procedures across multiple specialties, servicing patients from the local area, the north coast, and rural regions. With a significant expansion of the Operating Suite underway and due for completion in 2026, this is an exciting time to join our growing team.

 


 

About the role:
As a Registered Nurse in our Operating Suite, you will deliver patient-centred, evidence-based nursing care alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team. Working within an environment that values collaboration, respect, and empowerment, you will be supported by our dedicated Nurse Education Team, Nurse Unit Managers, and a Nurse Manager. Our trauma unit offers unparalleled exposure to complex and diverse surgical cases, providing the perfect setting to expand your skills and advance your career.

 


 

About you:

  • Experienced Perioperative Nurse seeking to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity trauma setting.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient care every time.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Flexible, resilient, and adaptable to a range of surgical specialties.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop within a supportive, world-class facility.


     


 

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and holds relevant clinical or education post
    registration qualifications (e.g. postgraduate qualification in perioperative nursing) or such education and
    clinical experience deemed appropriate.
