The Nepean Mental Health Centre provides inpatient care for people experiencing acute mental health issues through the short-stay Psychiatric Emergency Care Centre (PECC), the Acute Mental Health Unit, Mental Health High Dependency Unit, and Older Persons Mental Health Unit. We support our Patients by linking them to case managers for ongoing treatment and support within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD) is seeking a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator (CNE) to play a vital role in strengthening nursing and midwifery practice. Working closely with the Nursing Unit Manager, the CNE will lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of ward-based education programs, providing clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation, and professional development to nursing staff and students. This role also involves delivering tailored courses across NBMLHD facilities, supporting staff growth through high-quality instruction aligned with contemporary standards.

What you will bring to the role:
- Current registration to practice as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority (AHPRA). Relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications, or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
- Demonstrated competence in delivering Clinical Nurse Education in the Ward/Unit..
- Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes that align with NSW Health's organisation's CORE values of; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment, when interacting with staff, patients, consumers, and carers.
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward/unit level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement and the maintenance of a learning environment that values and encourages learning and reflective practice.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, including negotiation, feedback and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to motivate, support and engage people in the clinical setting and work professionally in a multidisciplinary team.
- Evidence of computer literacy and experience using Microsoft Office Suite and record management systems.
