You’ll join a close-knit team supported by a part-time Allied Health Assistant who performs the majority of hearing screens at Tamworth Hospital. The service has strong links with Community Health Audiometry and Child and Family Health services, creating a collaborative and well-connected working environment.

About the Role

In this role, you will support newborn hearing assessments, manage referrals, and follow up on missed or incomplete screens to ensure timely outcomes for families. You’ll also undertake regional visits to maternity wards to download device data and maintain the integrity and currency of Soniq screening equipment.

You will contribute to education and training of maternity and screening staff, maintain screening competency standards, and support service quality through Service Agreement Improvement Measures and monthly Ministry of Health data reporting. Orientation and training will be provided at an alternate site, with ongoing professional support from the wider service team.
