About the Role

The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC):
- Leads and drives quality improvement, patient safety and risk management initiatives within Emergency Department using evidence-based practice and data.
- Provides leadership in strategic and workflow development; Implementation and evaluation of policies, protocols and models of care within the Emergency Department and across relevant services.
- Acts as a clinical and resource expert in emergency nursing, providing clinical advice, mentoring and education to support workforce capability and service.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 7 years full time equivalent post registration experience, with at least 5 years full time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing critical care and quality improvement strategies, initiatives and programs within a complex clinical environment.
- Proven ability to analyse research, clinical and project data, evaluate outcomes, and apply findings to inform decision-making and drive improvements in clinical practice and service delivery.
